Greetings, my name is Marrwho Hasati.
I'm an artist on a Journey to use my creative abilities to produce art that uplifts. I create paintings, drawings, graphic design and Kemetic (Ancient Egyptian) art.
Born and raised on the south side of Seattle, WA. I grew up in a diverse community where I was surrounded by art. After high school, I attended the Northwest College of Arts and Design in Poulsbo, WA. where I graduated in 2004 with a Bachelors in Fine Arts. In 2005, I moved to Chicago, IL. to study under Dogon priest and healer Naba Lamoussa Morodenibig, founder of The Earth Center non-profit cultural organization, where I served as the Art Director and lead designer until 2020.
Coming from a mixed ethnic background, I have always had a great interest in culture and identity which led me to trace my Ancestral lineage to western Meritah (Africa). Since 2006, I've made several visits to the Motherland (Burkina Faso, Togo, Benin & Ghana) in order to continue the reclamation of my Ancestral roots. In experiencing the rich cultures and traditions, it has impacted me greatly and thus influenced my art. I hope you enjoy my work!
Contact me if you are interested in purchasing any of my prints, originals or hiring me for commission work.
